GFA Chief of Staff sues Jeffrey Asare, Sompa FM & others over 2022 World Cup ‘chopped cash’ allegations

Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chief of Staff Michael Osekre has filed a defamation of character suit against the Kumasi-based Broadcast Journalist and his media outlet at the High Court.

Mr. Osekre has sued media company TeraOne Media (owners of Sompa FM and Sompa TV) and its journalist Jeffrey Asare for slander.

The unofficial member of the country’s football governing body has sued the media outlet following allegations made by Jeffrey Asare on Sompa FM claiming that Ghana FA chief of staff Michael Osekre earned $50,000 as an appearance fee for the 2022 World Cup.

After 24 hours, Jeffery Asare, a board member of Vision FC, offered an unequivocal apology to Osekre for the incriminating charges.

The Ghana Football Association authorized its attorneys earlier this week to take legal action against those who disparage the association, its officials, goods, and harm the Black Stars brand, as well as the media platforms utilized to do so.
