Compassion in Action: NUGS Serves as Lifeline for Flood-Affected Students in Ghana

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), committed to safeguarding the welfare of over 12.5 million Ghanaian students, launched a vital initiative in response to the recent flood-induced crisis in the North and Central Tongu districts.

Last night, at approximately 10 PM, the NUGS President, accompanied by their National Officers and dedicated Volunteer Teachers from various institutions, arrived at Adidome in the North Tongu District. They joined the initial team of volunteers already engaged in the Central and North Tongu Districts.

Their primary objective is to extend the ongoing volunteer teaching program to aid the young students affected by the floods. This support aims to help them bridge the learning gap caused by the disruption and continue their academic pursuits.

Additionally, the NUGS leadership provided essential relief supplies, including books, clothing, food, drinks, and stationery, offering much-needed assistance during this challenging period.

The Union remains dedicated to providing these affected students with the necessary resources and support. The President emphasizes, “Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those affected,” expressing gratitude to all who supported their efforts, notably the 3 foundation, while urging for continued support moving forward.
