A video has surfaced online in which various Ga chiefs can be heard pleading to be invited to the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who holds the record for having the longest reign of any monarch in the history of the United Kingdom.
The death of Queen Elizabeth II took place on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at the Scottish residence of Balmoral Castle. According to reports from the BBC, her burial will take place following a state funeral that will take place on Monday, September 19, 2022.
During a visit to the British High Commission to express sympathy for them, one of those who addressed the commissioner made it clear that they wish to be present in London for the funeral of the queen.
He begged the British High Commissioner to allow them to attend the funeral so that they could represent the Ga people. “…We would like to go to the funeral to represent the Ga people.”
It is unknown how many Ga chiefs were a part of the delegation; however, Gbese Manste Nii Ayi Bonte, who was clad in red and watching the interactions from his seat, stood out as the most prominent of the Ga chiefs who were seen.
