Boomplay and TECNO, a leading smartphone brand, have joined forces to organize an exciting event called the “Boomplay x TECNO Campus Tour.” The tour will visit four tertiary institutions in Africa, including the University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Ghana (UG, Legon), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), and Takoradi Technical University (TTU). The highlight of the tour will be a mega concert, and the hosting campus will be decided through voting on the Boomplay platform.

The aim of the tour is to bring the fun of the Boomplay app beyond the digital platform and engage with students directly. The events will include thrilling musical performances by popular artists, engaging games and social trends, product activations, and giveaways from Boomplay and TECNO. TECNO is excited to be the lead partner for this campus tour, as it aligns with their mission to empower individuals through affordable smartphones and technology.

The first stop of the tour was at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), which took place from June 29th to July 1st. The event spanned three days and featured various activities such as music performances, board games, karaoke, lip-sync battles, fashion trivia, and a health walk. Artists like Quamina Mp, Djay, Maya Blu, DSL, and Yaw Hero, along with talented campus performers, entertained the enthusiastic crowd at UCC. Both Boomplay and TECNO had product activation stands with giveaways, and students had the opportunity to capture memorable moments with the new TECNO CAMON 20 phone.
Unfortunately, the visit to the University of Ghana (UG Legon) had to be canceled for undisclosed reasons. However, the tour will proceed to Takoradi Technical University from July 13th to July 15th, followed by Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) the following week. Arrangements are being made to reschedule a visit to the University of Ghana so that they can also experience the tour.
