There is currently little mystery surrounding Apple’s hardware updates for the iPhone 15, but two aspects—price and finish—remain unknown. The latter has just taken an intriguing new turn.
Consistently trustworthy Apple insider Unknownz21 sent me fresh information on the likely exclusion of the iPhone 15 range’s most recognizable color following startling remarks made last month.
This is a significant surprise, even if Apple continues their charitable partnership in other areas, given that Product(Red) iPhones have been released every year for the last five generations.
Additionally, a deep red color was long speculated to be the new “hero” color for the iPhone 15 Pro line, and even the exact Pantone color was leaked (and is recreated in the top image). Unknown z21 has pledged to soon make public the new hero color and has given me additional details about the impending leak:
Over the past year, Unknownz21 has established a solid track record for providing factual information, including details about the Apple Vision Pro headset and the iPhone 14 series. The leaker also disclosed a number of iPhone 15 details that were confirmed by other insiders.
In addition to this possible color variation, the iPhone 15 range is anticipated to have four models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The regular models will include the same 48-megapixel primary camera, Dynamic Island design, and A16 CPU as last year’s iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
The next-generation iPhone 15 Pro models will use the 3nm A17 processor, have considerably smaller bezels, a new programmable Action button that takes the place of the mute switch, improved cameras (including a Pro Max-only periscope lens), improved UWB, and maybe higher costs. USB-C will be used by all iPhone 15 models.
It’s important to note that Unknownz21 criticized the new iPhones, calling them “too mediocre of an upgrade.” Upgraders will need to make a choice as Apple’s 2024 iPhone 16 plans have already leaked far sooner than anticipated.
